Description: This session explores how colonialism has shaped, and in many cases restricted, our understanding of gender. Participants will learn how many cultures around the world have long recognized diverse gender identities, and how Western colonization imposed rigid binary norms that continue to impact us today. Through this lens, attendees will reflect on how reclaiming ancestral knowledge can empower both personal identity and community liberation.

Program description: An empowering space for transgender, gender non-conforming, gender-expansive, intersex, nonbinary, genderfluid, agender, demigender, and genderqueer identities and allies to heal, connect, and advocate. Through peer support, political education, and community-building, we uplift TGI voices and build collective power.
