Topic/Theme: More Than a Performance

Description: In this episode, we dive into the rich and rebellious history of drag culture, tracing its roots from underground ballrooms and vaudeville stages to modern-day pop culture phenomena. We’ll explore how drag has long been a political tool within the LGBTQIA+ community — challenging gender norms, defying oppression, and demanding visibility.

From Marsha P. Johnson to Divine, ballroom legends to contemporary queens, this is more than a history lesson — it’s a celebration of the artistry, activism, and audacity that define drag.

Program Description: Tune into our monthly podcasts, where we amplify youth voices on creating supportive conversations around mental health and well-being. Designed for transitional-aged youth (18-26) and continuing our youth-focused podcast series for ages 12-18, each episode offers a space for honest dialogue and shared experiences. Some podcasts will coincide with special events and programs, featuring panel discussions and opportunities for broader participation. Each session begins or ends  with updates on our organization’s latest programs, ensuring you stay connected with our community resources and initiatives. Join us for meaningful conversations that empower and connect!
